2020 COVID Guidelines

Fall 2020 Health and Safety Guidelines

In order to help curb the community spread of COVID, Bastrop Little League will implement the following rule changes for the fall baseball season.

General Facility Guidelines

  • Spectators and guests are required to maintain 6 feet of separation between their family group and other family groups at all times while on the grounds. If it is not possible to maintain 6 feet of separation, a face covering is required.

  • Families are encouraged to bring their own seating to games to assist in maintaining separation.

  • Families should leave the grounds as soon as possible after games.

Responsibilities of Players and Coaches

  • All parents and coaches will be required to sign a medical liability waiver.

  • Players are responsible for bringing their own drinks. Drinks should be labeled with the individual player’s name.

  • Players must avoid sharing food and drinks.

  • Teams should not share snacks. Each family is responsible for providing snacks for their player(s) if necessary.

  • Players are not required to wear face coverings on the field of play. A player may wear a face covering on the field of play if they wish to. [BASEBALL ONLY] A pitcher may not wear a white face covering or a face covering with an image of a ball.

  • Coaches are required to wear face coverings if they cannot maintain 6 ft of separation.

  • Minors Divisions and Above: In spaces where 6 ft of separation cannot be maintained (ie dugout), players are required to wear face coverings. Face coverings are not required if it is possible to seat the players where a) 6 feet of separation are maintained and b) there is a fence between the players and the field of play.

  • Tee ball and Coach Pitch: Face coverings are not required in the dugout, but players may wear them if desired.

  • Players should wash and sanitize their hands often. Hand sanitizer will be provided as part of the coach’s kit.

  • Each player should provide their own bat, glove, and batting helmet.

  • Catchers should either provide their own catcher’s equipment, or check out a set for season use. Catchers equipment should not be shared during a game.

Field Decorum and Rules Changes

  • Sunflower seeds and gum are not allowed inside the dugout.

  • Players should line up on opposing baselines and remove their hats at the conclusion of games (no post game handshakes).

  • [Tee ball Only] Teams will not field a catcher while playing defense.
